Boxing is a very physically demanding sport due to the repeated bouts of high intensity efforts whilst also taking potential harm from the opponent which can further limit your aerobic capabilities and lead to decrements in technical performance.

Improvements of the aerobic and anaerobic capacities are vital in achieving success within professional boxing (Nassib et al., 2017).
